Why did I decide to build this specifically?
I recently built a SimRacing frame and thought it would be nice to have some wall art to go with the racing theme. Although this was a simple project it was tedious and hard to complete within the four hour time limit. I also wanted to try something more art related since I normally focus more on functional projects.
Materials Used:
- One piece of 2x4x8 lumber
- Sandpaper (80 grit)
- Black paint
- White paint
- Wood glue
Building Process
I began by cutting a 2x4x8 piece of wood, reducing it to dimensions of 1 1/2" by 1 1/2", resulting in a square-shaped rod. From this, I crafted 24 cubes measuring 1 1/2" each, along with 24 cubes at 1" each. After lightly sanding all pieces with 80 grit sandpaper, I proceeded to paint the larger cubes black and the smaller ones white. Finally, I assembled the cubes by gluing them together and securing them with clamps.
